Jack Mulcahy has been a writer since the late 1960s. He is the grandson of Irish immigrants, for whom storytelling was a fine art. Jack graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1977, with a B.A. in English. He wrote on a free-lance basis for newspapers in the 1970s and 1980s, then turned his attention to fiction. In the mid-1990s, he made his first sale, a story called “The Talisman,” to the magazine Lesbian Short Fiction. Jack has since sold a number of other stories, including one that earned third place in a worldwide Cinematic Short Story contest sponsored by ScreenCraft.com. He is presently at work on Healer’s Awakening, the first book in a projected series, The Chronicles of the Healer. Jack lives with his wife, Pat, and their two cats (and what writer isn’t a cat person?) in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
