Kelly Kurtzhals Geiger grew up a farm in downriver Detroit. She earned her BFA in Acting from NYU, which led to her first career as a professional standup comedian. Her name and headshot still appear on the walls of the Hollywood Comedy Store.
From standup, she transitioned into becoming a television writer and producer and earned six Daytime Emmy nominations for the celebrity entertainment show E! News with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic. She’s also written and produced for E!’s The Daily 10, Style Network’s Clean House Comes Clean, ABC’s Wipeout, CBS’s Hollywood Squares, and HGTV’s What’s With that House? and Manland.
She recently uprooted from Los Angeles to Ohio with her cat where she’s now an MFA candidate in fiction at Bowling Green State University. Kelly has published short stories in Etherea Magazine, The Arcanist, Dream of Shadows, Bards and Sages Quarterly, The Northridge Review, Flash Fiction Magazine, the anthologies Hell Comes to Hollywood II and Cemetery Riots, and more.
