First Step: Transformation

The child walked away,
he did not look back.
Trees were his only witness.

A lifetime of hidden shame,
sins of the father,
no longer a shadow clinging to his flesh.

The forest swallowed him whole,
and there he remains,
breathing in new life.

Shedding his scales,
he grew branches
thriving among the greenwood.
