A Haint in the Hollow by LindaAnn LoSchiavo

Perhaps you’ve heard the tale elders pass on.

That haunted spot exists, brown stains of blood
Still visible – if you know where to look.

Don’t pursue injustice you can’t unsee:
A mouth stretched open in a silenced scream.

Rebellion with its key-shaped teeth unsealed
My memories. My traumas echoing,
Reverberating, merged to hex this place
Which can’t erase the horrors I endured.

A tapestry of red rage lurks in weeds.

Your fearful feet amuse me, passerby.
