The police came to escort Ambassador Theodore Kingsley-Langdon and his wife Lady Stephanie Kingsley-Langdon back to their embassy in Washington, D.C. The ambassador was chatting away with the officer the whole ride back. Officer Byron McJames listened intently.
“That hideous snow monster from Uranus has made fools of us all. He knocked our driver out, took over the limousine and next thing I know, we wake up in what looked like a warehouse and my good lady and I hadn’t an inkling as to whereabouts we were. It was horrible! It was ghastly! You’ll know to tell your president, Mr. Antonopoulos, that I have spoken to our prime minister, Paul Donovan III, about what occurred at the White House. He and I were cut off because that snow monster knocked me out, but I know he will speak to the king. This is the most atrocious thing that’s ever happened to me and to my lovely wife. I’m putting in to return to the home office in London. I’d like to return to my work with Scotland Yard. Being ambassador is not for me. And living here in Washington, D.C. is not good for our health, I’m afraid to say,” lamented the ambassador.
“Please don’t worry too much, Mr. Ambassador. I know everyone is working on trying to apprehend this snow monster from Uranus. And I’m sure the president is upset about what’s happened to you and your lovely wife. I can understand you wanting to return to London. My cousin Danny after visiting Ireland and seeing the city where my great-grandparents were from has taken a residency there and plans now to stay there. He found a good job there too and he’s very happy. He couldn’t find a job in DC or in Alexandria and he went on a lot of interviews—all of them a big waste of time with those crazy questions like, ‘What do you think you’ll be doing five years from now?’ Well, hey, we don’t know what we’ll be doing five hours from now. Plus, with all the companies using so many robots these days, there aren’t many job opportunities out there so there’s lots of people but only a few good jobs available,” said Officer McJames.
The ambassador listened to Officer McJames and they continued their conversation. Lady Stephanie texted her friend Helen. She couldn’t wait to get back to their home and she was happy that Sir Kingsley-Langdon wanted to return to the UK. She couldn’t wait for that day.
In the sky above the state of Nevada, three long, sleek spaceships were hovering above the city of Henderson and getting ready to land at the Black Mountain Industrial Center. Below on the ground, a mass of police cars surrounded the center as the spaceships landed. The police aimed their rifles at the spaceships and shot hundreds of rounds at the spaceships with all bullets seeming to bounce right off of them. The SWAT teams used laser guns and that’s when the spaceships started to smoke, one of them crashing as it landed. Jezi in his spaceship was already on the ground. But he was getting nervous at the sight of maybe one hundred or more police vehicles. The FBI special agent, Stanley Zombroski, was on the phone to Washington, D.C. speaking to one of the assistant directors.
“Jack, we’ve got these aliens, and their spaceships surrounded by police, SWAT teams, special agents. We fired the laser guns at three of the spaceships and one of them has smoke coming out while another crashed when it landed. Jezi is still inside his spaceship but we’re going to use a Soviet issue weapon—the T-P-82, which is a triple barrel arm and it also doubles as a shovel or machete. The astronauts use it in outer space. We have to keep using the laser guns too,” explained Stanley.
“Okay, but we’ve tried some of these weapons before on this fellow and he seems to just evaporate and reappear or just totally disappear and reappear somewhere else, kind of like Endora on “Bewitched”. I don’t think we’ve used that T-P-82 but give it a try. Also, try the atomic spray guns and see if that will make them all disappear,” suggested Jack.
“Will do!”
The battle continued and the policemen, FBI and SWAT teams were all engaged with overtaking the aliens and hopefully getting them to return to their planet of Uranus.
Jezi got out his snow gun. He was ready for war…
