The Thor by Matt Fraction Omnibus by Eric S Brown

Weighing in at over thirteen hundred pages, The Thor by Matt Fraction Omnibus collects several Thor one shots, Thor: Secret Invasion 1-3, Thor (2007) 615-621, Thor (2011) 1-22, the entire, core mini-series of Fear Itself, and more.

The omnibus starts off being top notch Thor. The art is amazing and Fraction is certainly on his game as a writer. The Secret Invasion issues are fun, Fear Itself hardcore rocks and features guest stars from all across the Marvel Universe, and then Odin and Galactus go to war! Sadly, about two thirds of the way through the omnibus, everything goes sideways. It’s as if Fraction ran out of good ideas and just stopped caring. There’s an arc that barely features Thor at all which is simply horrid to read through. However, if one can force themselves through it, the omnibus does get better at its end. Not as good as the beginning but better.

Though having a $125 cover price, this is a Marvel Omnibus that can usually be
found for far less online. If one can is willing to put up with some junk in order to
read some truly fabulous stories, then this book is worth picking up.
